has spent more than 30 years executing projects in communication, branding and positioning strategies for corporations, organizations, political parties and candidates. She currently is President of CTC, Inc., a research, strategy and communications firm and founder of Options, Inc., a nonprofit organization that designs and executes conferences for women and families. The Dec. 2 runoff pits first-term Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss against Democratic challenger Martin. Neither candidate got 50 percent of the vote plus one on Election Day, forcing the contest in the Republican-leaning state.
The race is of prime importance because a Democratic victory could help the party amass 60 seats in the Senate, enough to avert a filibuster. That possibility would be a delicious bonus for Democrats, who, come January, will also control the House of Representatives and the presidency as well as the Senate.
