University DevelopmentOur MissionThe University Development Office is committed to supporting Southern Virginia University’s overall mission by strengthening the financial position of the Institution. We do this through the solicitation and receipt of private and public donations to create a revenue stream that will help the University meet its financial obligations in terms of operational costs, construction and maintenance of physical facilities, capital equipment and improvements, as well as scholarships and endowments. We seek to develop and foster lasting relationships between the University and its constituents. By creating opportunities for all alumni, students, families, faculty, staff, corporations, foundations, and friends to financially support the University, the Development Office helps SVU maintain and enhance the outstanding quality of its faculty and students, its programs, and its facilities. Our VisionSVU will further expand and develop its facilities and programs so that many thousands of Latter-day Saints and others with similar values can grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially in a wholesome campus and community environment. In addition, it has always been the intent of SVU's leadership to develop the University without the support of tithing funds from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and thereby to create an institutional model that can be replicated in other parts of the world.
